These people built up major stock piles of items in their homes and also purchased in large quantities - one guy bought over 1000 boxes of cereal and with his coupons got them all for free! (He donated the cereal to a food bank).<br /><br />I have been continuing my couponing (although I hardly would consider it extreme). I have had some great deals on diapers and wipes (large box of diapers and large container of wipes for $10). In honor of the Extreme Couponing show I wanted to share my latest great deal (no pictures as the "stock" has been given out already lol)<br /><br />Recently Walmart had a deal on Old Spice and Gillette deodorant @ $2 each. My brother uses the Old Spice brand and hubby uses Gillette so I took this as the perfect time to stock up for them. I had Old Spice coupons for buy two Old Spice products get $3 off AND I had coupons for buy one Old Spice Deo and get a body wash for free. So for $1 I got two deodorant and two body wash. A great deal!<br /><br />The Gillette deal was just as good. Coupons for buy three gilette products and get $5 off plus the buy one deo get one body wash for free so for $1 three gillette deo and three body wash!<br /><br />I was able to buy enough to stock up my hubby, brother and cousin for the year. Also had some body washes to wrap up for stocking stuffers for the men in my life. I donated some more to Siloam Mission and am giving some to the Dubois family ( a local family that recently suffered a terrible accident).<br /><br />Not going to lie, I did get a bit of a thrill at getting such a good deal but rest assured I am miles away from becoming an Extreme couponer!Rebecca Waddellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13959878277750291503noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3443807731577106157.post-54975079263221493862011-01-03T00:28:00.002-06:002011-01-03T01:04:11.801-06:00First Cards of 2011<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8lPdAP9r_hX0G5kIqv3WwLNwTe6Ii_g1wohY-rBLY6jdeUnk0_jjUb6eAdXVzQm4-sEw9dua3pEO27RTGa7PlQeKmIXE-SOUUvcnXNM8GSv5ads6WwnKPHdDqPZnpBoWl6Frh3YKo7fw7/s1600/5.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8lPdAP9r_hX0G5kIqv3WwLNwTe6Ii_g1wohY-rBLY6jdeUnk0_jjUb6eAdXVzQm4-sEw9dua3pEO27RTGa7PlQeKmIXE-SOUUvcnXNM8GSv5ads6WwnKPHdDqPZnpBoWl6Frh3YKo7fw7/s320/5.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557847477321511442" border="0" /></a>I have been spending a lot of time over at the Split Coast Stampers blog lately. I find it to be a great source of inspiration for me. If you are a paper crafter you most definitely should check it out.<br /><br />My stamping goal for 2011 is to get some serious paper crafting done this year! I have so many awesome stamps, paper and supplies and I really want to make the effort to use them. I have a great friend LH who is also an avid paper crafter and we have been encouraging each other to create. Here are some of the cards I made yesterday. <br /><br />For the past few summers I have been getting together with a few stamping friends at the lake for a few days of stamping. We bring our supplies and share with each other and generally have a blast. These images were embossed using my cuttlebug machine. I embossed so many images my elbow was aching!<br /><br />The flowers on this card were embellished with some diamond dots. They are a little hard to see in the photograph as the cardstock is metallic but they add some nice pop to the card. I used a peel off sticker to add the sentiment.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij4NdMnb8qKowrcE-WRrpIuqRYoEJiMI7bBhXBHWTbUPi3qsO6678DLr2PRLkt-XF1wcdqliINfdFi8qFXpOkUxdi-eVVk6t3oox5a2AWNOd1g1Jvt4rQVMLivg7jtzq0CYW8n73h1-B5F/s1600/4.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij4NdMnb8qKowrcE-WRrpIuqRYoEJiMI7bBhXBHWTbUPi3qsO6678DLr2PRLkt-XF1wcdqliINfdFi8qFXpOkUxdi-eVVk6t3oox5a2AWNOd1g1Jvt4rQVMLivg7jtzq0CYW8n73h1-B5F/s320/4.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557847474730618066" border="0" /></a>This card was made using the stampin up Manhattan Rose embossing folder. Love this folder. So beautiful, simple but yet elegant! I gave this card to my mom for her birthday today. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and I used my two new Stampin Up punches to punch out the white oval and the red scalloped oval. The sentiment is mounted with pop dots to make it stick out from the card. Added a little red rhinestone bling and mounted the card on some Real Red cardstock. A cute card I think!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC3tNC1uYD44wb3G0gaYRNuHFSqpvU2ylLgnw_SVspnOf3MIHVWf87qK_9x6GnWWKsm1MEdrITPpMAghahJhOJuaQ8aoPV4FHTzfby8MHYYbdfeX2PgfHnu1wbBY6647hSLo2uNXp4zGFx/s1600/3.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC3tNC1uYD44wb3G0gaYRNuHFSqpvU2ylLgnw_SVspnOf3MIHVWf87qK_9x6GnWWKsm1MEdrITPpMAghahJhOJuaQ8aoPV4FHTzfby8MHYYbdfeX2PgfHnu1wbBY6647hSLo2uNXp4zGFx/s320/3.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557847465278663762" border="0" /></a>Variation on the theme. Grey and red with some Real Red grosgrain ribbon and silver "pearls" to embellish.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOQ8svPxWPmOgYbqKpmoZMv2iIbDugMN_7QkFA-PxD1epQcAVna5cO65h0A7bZuTq6FpaYs3zKTPrG6GCddVRwZKlGW2isWzBU2mwXA_cAoizOmTimK2VxcYJgZuvAAt5DaXRfwZPWuxP_/s1600/2.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOQ8svPxWPmOgYbqKpmoZMv2iIbDugMN_7QkFA-PxD1epQcAVna5cO65h0A7bZuTq6FpaYs3zKTPrG6GCddVRwZKlGW2isWzBU2mwXA_cAoizOmTimK2VxcYJgZuvAAt5DaXRfwZPWuxP_/s320/2.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557847457046673586" border="0" /></a>I was on a roll and found this purple shiny ribbon while looking for the red ribbon and whipped this card together as well. It is not quite done - needs a sentiment or further embellishement - but I think it has the "bones" of a cute card! I used my new scallop border punch to add some pizazz.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTS55ZXDKZDLHM3ndAdCL3lLmJW00OlzwpbKP2ZJfWAn6BSKyuvWzPMu3sHVxpuk42ZcyYNlE0-xWahgunb5jrb6WZK6VsWGvgrvKEWQLr4g_GY8RLqnuS-Tt99d9DbE6iCFj_6AU0wxs0/s1600/1.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTS55ZXDKZDLHM3ndAdCL3lLmJW00OlzwpbKP2ZJfWAn6BSKyuvWzPMu3sHVxpuk42ZcyYNlE0-xWahgunb5jrb6WZK6VsWGvgrvKEWQLr4g_GY8RLqnuS-Tt99d9DbE6iCFj_6AU0wxs0/s320/1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557847451294265346" border="0" /></a>Rebecca Waddellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13959878277750291503noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3443807731577106157.post-88787336141581992042011-01-03T00:07:00.003-06:002011-01-03T00:17:36.980-06:00Knitting Tags<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVlA8Z5XVAB3TxaRNFW_GVJ_jT10hSoeOYuBpAuDP7qpbkOWisl0zEKly6m81C1sHEv9Uh5k2L2FV3FULsS8KDcQ1I5vMHUSzyNGmM359eMBgMDJa-E8lBXGTV1F7r-eOaBE5C6kjO5fpu/s1600/6.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVlA8Z5XVAB3TxaRNFW_GVJ_jT10hSoeOYuBpAuDP7qpbkOWisl0zEKly6m81C1sHEv9Uh5k2L2FV3FULsS8KDcQ1I5vMHUSzyNGmM359eMBgMDJa-E8lBXGTV1F7r-eOaBE5C6kjO5fpu/s320/6.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557838141313679474" border="0" /></a>I made this little package of tags for my mother in law for her birthday. She is an avid knitter and I thought she might like some of these to attach to the knitted items she makes to give away. She has knit baby blankets for all of my husband's cousins new babies and so I made these tags a little large to suit a blanket. I packaged them with some coordinating ribbon in a clear plastic envelope. She loved them! I also made some up for my mom. I used a Stampin Up stamp set called Hand Knit. I love this little set.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6ocrT9wvaFVbOseco47gPl0L3MxfGGpI1VXRmsRbSDaiIix0NItES5UzDZCOrDplvVMaPKtdwyqh7p3KHW9wVJlU4ujLZX1jGQzuomGacrZ5vH8PbP8fP_lLl63-5v4LMZr0vUm3bQsLK/s1600/5.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6ocrT9wvaFVbOseco47gPl0L3MxfGGpI1VXRmsRbSDaiIix0NItES5UzDZCOrDplvVMaPKtdwyqh7p3KHW9wVJlU4ujLZX1jGQzuomGacrZ5vH8PbP8fP_lLl63-5v4LMZr0vUm3bQsLK/s320/5.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557838131781850818" border="0" /></a>I used my cricut machine to cut out the shapes for the tags. <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzww0LDO5p5rzLrkyg5et8Rp9hrwMU_3zAK02B-0-rtn4cHgT7zGy9F4pYGo1-lkqKtP9WMeCxnP-dCtpY0mQX4e_tEWxIG4qA9HH1RE_JIMmSwkvMj0jYb7GgfkDvwIkA8ylhQvx5DY-E/s1600/4.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzww0LDO5p5rzLrkyg5et8Rp9hrwMU_3zAK02B-0-rtn4cHgT7zGy9F4pYGo1-lkqKtP9WMeCxnP-dCtpY0mQX4e_tEWxIG4qA9HH1RE_JIMmSwkvMj0jYb7GgfkDvwIkA8ylhQvx5DY-E/s320/4.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557838125104823170" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6LNE-lpMzW52O3QtS0Uk-IeEQB6qaPcOliCQmR0E6CgbRth_UI-nfpIBi3JE5S7XIjDIiprMJAYdk21wIv-cbI8ORGhnQy2L5sWqkXikU1g5Z81CLH9Cx4wtctUU4bKRolhB_7vJ1-T1F/s1600/3.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6LNE-lpMzW52O3QtS0Uk-IeEQB6qaPcOliCQmR0E6CgbRth_UI-nfpIBi3JE5S7XIjDIiprMJAYdk21wIv-cbI8ORGhnQy2L5sWqkXikU1g5Z81CLH9Cx4wtctUU4bKRolhB_7vJ1-T1F/s320/3.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557838115837803202" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIxjG4R1Jp-z85FPqahh_Tzv4OFBa6QLL-gH4maiBL5PSkChFre0sd_SHP13YSK4soSNDpZ5n2-2nbstyCCpRCQhFjaDPSV_iFN1BZr4tWN2za9x1A4nhrZ4Wy-seG2Napg2JM7jaNkAuE/s1600/1.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIxjG4R1Jp-z85FPqahh_Tzv4OFBa6QLL-gH4maiBL5PSkChFre0sd_SHP13YSK4soSNDpZ5n2-2nbstyCCpRCQhFjaDPSV_iFN1BZr4tWN2za9x1A4nhrZ4Wy-seG2Napg2JM7jaNkAuE/s320/1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557838107389530722" border="0" /></a>Rebecca Waddellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13959878277750291503noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3443807731577106157.post-85730826623583525582011-01-02T23:38:00.002-06:002011-01-02T23:55:32.526-06:00Baby ShowerWe had a baby shower for my sister to celebrate the birth of her little son. It was a bit belated (held when he was 4 months old) but a fun party. I made these party favours using a<a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/ghirardellibox/"> tutorial </a>I found on splitcoaststampers. These quilts have been donated to Lutheran World Relief to be given to people in need of warm sturdy quilts for shelter and warmth.<br /><br />A small group of 7 ladies from my church got together to work on this project. I was very happy that we were able to get 20 quilts done. We still have lots of fabric left over and plan another quilting bee in the next few months.<br /><br />The quilts are definitely colorful (no designer fabrics here) just plenty of old sheets and scraps of cloth but meet the criteria of warm and sturdy. We used old blankets and flannel sheets to line the quilts and crochet cotton to tie them.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVtQOKFF7eiPzsi4W_hgEfoOXMuIuiq70fHcrOejgsVTtyMfutYtSd4b34XhM__dPBiYuQYpVHjvFP5qIvEhnK2W_tLwJw3pj0O2LaFuzHXR8yfRZtn68QtnVH_UL52MCN3Cumpe8mSchW/s1600/DSCN8828.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVtQOKFF7eiPzsi4W_hgEfoOXMuIuiq70fHcrOejgsVTtyMfutYtSd4b34XhM__dPBiYuQYpVHjvFP5qIvEhnK2W_tLwJw3pj0O2LaFuzHXR8yfRZtn68QtnVH_UL52MCN3Cumpe8mSchW/s320/DSCN8828.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557827442837466834" border="0" /></a>Rebecca Waddellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13959878277750291503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3443807731577106157.post-20737598678712373022011-01-02T23:15:00.003-06:002011-01-02T23:26:32.544-06:00Lego Crayons<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie0mOm-knluY6Ylx9ihHZrec8Dhx7s4doog3X4a0wds7dpwqJB57crkOV4YkpSsase8GzicC7VG8JiL4vxl8mkFaQrtGtGjL-4A60odrp0Wt30FFmjlUz02Ki6KEXNLIySLnxph3pPiRvg/s1600/5.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie0mOm-knluY6Ylx9ihHZrec8Dhx7s4doog3X4a0wds7dpwqJB57crkOV4YkpSsase8GzicC7VG8JiL4vxl8mkFaQrtGtGjL-4A60odrp0Wt30FFmjlUz02Ki6KEXNLIySLnxph3pPiRvg/s320/5.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5557824764472846642" border="0" /></a>These were part of the party favours for Junior Jay's first birthday. Also - you can bend the cans to make a spout. I found that this helped my accuracy in pouring the hot melted crayon! There are a few cute options:<br /><br /><a href="http://cambriaturnbow.blogspot.com/2009/01/ghirardelli-love-you-much-box.html">Ghiardelli chocolate boxes</a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1129675">Snowman boxes</a> (using the Stampin' Up Top Note die) - based on these <a href="http://cambriaturnbow.blogspot.com/2008/09/mr-mrs-frankie-treat-boxes.html">Frankenstein Treat bags.</a> Using <a href="http://cambriaturnbow.blogspot.com/2008/12/jody-morrow-box-tutorial.html">this tutorial </a>to make the inner box.Rebecca Waddellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13959878277750291503noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3443807731577106157.post-8684338508945169812010-10-20T10:01:00.003-05:002010-10-20T10:10:53.021-05:00Quilting BeeOn November 3 and 4, 2010 I will be hosting a quilting bee at First Lutheran Church where a small group of people will be making <a href="http://www.lwr.org/beinvolved/quilts.asp">quilts for Lutheran World Relief. </a> They are a relief organization that distributes supplies to people in need and they have a need for quilts. Quilts provide shelter and warmth to people who desperately need both.<br /><br />I would gladly welcome donations of extra fabric you may have and also materials for lining the quilts. Lining materials could be old flannel sheets, quilted mattress pads, bedspreads, heavy curtains (not fibreglass) or old blankets. It's okay if they have holes in them as they can be patched up. The quilts need to measure 60 x 80 so it would be helpful if the lining material was at least this size.<br /><br />We are starting small and hope to make several quilts over these two days. If you want to help, you are welcome to do so. You don't have to know how to sew as there are plenty of other jobs to do. Lunch will even be provided!<br /><br />If you have an interest in helping - whether it be through donating material or time - please email me at bencer99 (at) hotmail (dot) com and just let me know! Thanks for reading.Rebecca Waddellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13959878277750291503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3443807731577106157.post-40934963211370906072010-09-27T09:25:00.003-05:002010-09-27T09:37:42.174-05:00A few quickies<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp9fM9DZYVCmwrNMQad5e7REL4iqWPqcv9ZOBY5TMFGhNwR_bObPSRwwyzKljr3UGMJu87zyyZugNmS9k7TK7zDbcIJfMXln1cfiuSt8kDNatByqlCNN9chIlGf2BSZYPEz52G1Pw5pG_U/s1600/DSCN8660.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp9fM9DZYVCmwrNMQad5e7REL4iqWPqcv9ZOBY5TMFGhNwR_bObPSRwwyzKljr3UGMJu87zyyZugNmS9k7TK7zDbcIJfMXln1cfiuSt8kDNatByqlCNN9chIlGf2BSZYPEz52G1Pw5pG_U/s320/DSCN8660.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521602254080197954" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMCi8YIGaI9nFflW0x54FwX7AHDtBk9Bl2hd4iRwzVuWI4IzocyJC1UYyZ2qi5eeaMCCJ01UopnxxjZJWGX7rxiL2Ukl-2IR6zCDiOco24d43HmRYj0cz3Uvv0QfXLwnryCa8Xiwa-wQI0/s1600/DSCN8655.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMCi8YIGaI9nFflW0x54FwX7AHDtBk9Bl2hd4iRwzVuWI4IzocyJC1UYyZ2qi5eeaMCCJ01UopnxxjZJWGX7rxiL2Ukl-2IR6zCDiOco24d43HmRYj0cz3Uvv0QfXLwnryCa8Xiwa-wQI0/s320/DSCN8655.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521602243830018562" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGxhlejPMGqPv1eRyvVnKRf453XRHkqHfo_QLm3eEAY0ESOA-j9VMuR8J0vKrD9O4afO2awbyocZR8m5zcw8UGPDijiwx0NUbQNNruyoZcApCQF2R9UseicUJ74ou2PGh88vnvGpSLmB0H/s1600/DSCN8653.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGxhlejPMGqPv1eRyvVnKRf453XRHkqHfo_QLm3eEAY0ESOA-j9VMuR8J0vKrD9O4afO2awbyocZR8m5zcw8UGPDijiwx0NUbQNNruyoZcApCQF2R9UseicUJ74ou2PGh88vnvGpSLmB0H/s320/DSCN8653.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521602239285139810" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiozfDKJ7L8HSKvrYocNUveN2jxl_8Bf1XxVu3l0HYnGvILkUYOWYVHVYU8G8ojVXM-HGB2UtFNIp92VVtMXFITbUzKhNmpGvKMHD_GW0ZiRCf-cZPyaU6qtB1D94Opfahhe3BACIGn874S/s1600/DSCN8650.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiozfDKJ7L8HSKvrYocNUveN2jxl_8Bf1XxVu3l0HYnGvILkUYOWYVHVYU8G8ojVXM-HGB2UtFNIp92VVtMXFITbUzKhNmpGvKMHD_GW0ZiRCf-cZPyaU6qtB1D94Opfahhe3BACIGn874S/s320/DSCN8650.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521602236863378802" border="0" /></a><br />Well lately it seems that everyone I know is having babies. I have been sewing up a storm of receiving blankets (over 20) and packaging up gifts to go in the mail.<br /><br />My sister's best friend, who has a thing for turtles, just had a little girl. I made a few turtle patterned receiving blankets for her and also made a little flower arrangement. I found the ceramic turtle dish at Value Village and thought it would be perfect to use for an arrangement. By no means am I a professional flower arranger so don't judge me too harshly.<br /><br />A very good friend of mine just had a little boy and I wanted to do something for her almost 4 year old daughter. I know how difficult it can be for kids that age when their new sibling is getting loads of presents and they don't get a present too. I wanted to make something special for her so decided to make a Big Sister shirt. I cut out the stencil on freezer paper using my Cricut machine and the School Book cartridge. This worked very well! I'll be using my cricut machine to make more stencils for sure. If you look closely the sister is slightly off center but I'm sure I'm the only one who noticed that.<br /><br />Last time I tried this technique I ironed an extra piece of freezer paper underneath the stencil on the inside of the shirt. I skipped that step this time but will definitely not skip that step again. I found that I had cleaner, crisper lines with the paper ironed on the back.<br /><br />That's it for today! Maybe I will go forth and be creative some more!Rebecca Waddellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13959878277750291503noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3443807731577106157.post-77688657009590502282010-09-02T21:22:00.003-05:002010-09-02T21:40:58.471-05:00Greek Salad from the Garden<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglp2HmM1RwVINQgzkC5G_YRYZfbzZFtGSQMkNUu5dE2PfICUm4It0HxFtrff2IYBsqqLjvZ4PVzx6MHXnh-XUc5dvUjJBXV1nFJw2DC3Zg3z-Sd9O79vPbq2_mUnjRqB6AV46V4UrCK7ej/s1600/DSCN8632.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglp2HmM1RwVINQgzkC5G_YRYZfbzZFtGSQMkNUu5dE2PfICUm4It0HxFtrff2IYBsqqLjvZ4PVzx6MHXnh-XUc5dvUjJBXV1nFJw2DC3Zg3z-Sd9O79vPbq2_mUnjRqB6AV46V4UrCK7ej/s320/DSCN8632.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512508065745641074" border="0" /></a><br />Here was our salad from dinner - tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers from the garden tossed with some feta cheese, oregano and some Kraft Greek Feta dressing. Between friends and family members there will be at least 6 babies in the next few months so it is time to get sewing!<br /><br />Last night I sewed for several hours and made 9 receiving blankets, numerous hankies and 5 burp cloths. Back at it again tonight. I figure why haul the sewing machine out every week when I can go into mass production all at once!<br /><br />I also have a few special projects planned for Christmas gifts and my sister's baby shower so these will be featured soon too. I'm really excited to get crafting again!<br /><br />Stay tuned for pictures and more updates!Rebecca Waddellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13959878277750291503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3443807731577106157.post-60344684922040874382010-08-28T22:18:00.002-05:002010-08-28T22:27:10.246-05:00Dried and Ready<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8Rpxgamc4k-iFvCLZli0Wl9SxzObSmzWSW460CEUMtmn94GDG7b_ZTP59xBS9rPuezHdyc1cS7OUtHWWHOdLnQGHumCL2JBw17tj0Elf55Kqpct_yGdKEDHQTefzZF3i-nErDqogCkDri/s1600/DSCN8589.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8Rpxgamc4k-iFvCLZli0Wl9SxzObSmzWSW460CEUMtmn94GDG7b_ZTP59xBS9rPuezHdyc1cS7OUtHWWHOdLnQGHumCL2JBw17tj0Elf55Kqpct_yGdKEDHQTefzZF3i-nErDqogCkDri/s320/DSCN8589.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510668105002267730" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5_wGBsGf3qjzUiVjN8o-DHY3wlTt9eA-ul8I_SHJ9QUwS0lAwRIHZ3W0jEjseDGEi00-oIUWu3ju5sH0FZcz_0ZTZMd3FXBhP5idPCCfp24KUz3Ckx2VKW9F8bvLier0IfnDDGnkEBYX6/s1600/DSCN8588.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5_wGBsGf3qjzUiVjN8o-DHY3wlTt9eA-ul8I_SHJ9QUwS0lAwRIHZ3W0jEjseDGEi00-oIUWu3ju5sH0FZcz_0ZTZMd3FXBhP5idPCCfp24KUz3Ckx2VKW9F8bvLier0IfnDDGnkEBYX6/s320/DSCN8588.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510668096882516738" border="0" /></a><br />Here are the tomatoes after drying in the oven at 200'C for about 5 hours.
