I picked up some strawberries and saskatoons last week. They were so delicious! No comparison to the strawberries you buy at the store.

Grow Garden Grow
We were away on the weekend and the amount of growth in our garden is staggering! The zuchinni had only 5 leaves on Thursday and are now about a foot across.
The lettuce and radishes are about ready to be picked!
Grow garden grow!

Benches and Birdhouses!
This past weekend I had a great visit with my in-laws in the country. I picked up a few of these garden benches and birdhouses that my father-in-law makes in his spare time. A few of the girls at work wanted to purchase one for their garden. He uses reclaimed wood (barn board, window frames etc), used garden tools (mostly garden forks) and found objects (old door knobs, hinges, latches, spoons, keyholes, buckles etc) for his creations. They are truly one of a kind objects!
Ihave posted some pictures of his work. These garden decorations make great gifts. The prices are very reasonable for such a unique piece of art work! If you are interested in purchasing any of his creations, please leave a comment on this post and I will let him know.

The Garden
This weekend was finally a nice sunny weekend and hubby and I planted our garden with help from my mom. We have a strawberry patch, tomatoes, peppers, herb garden, lettuce patch and planted several rows of peas, beans, beets and cucumbers. Also a few potatoes, squash, zuchinni, eggplant and kohl rabi.
My father and hubby spent a few days slaving in the yard to build me two 8 x 8 foot raised garden beds. They hauled multiple loads of dirt to fill them up. I'm so excited to see if everything that we planted will grow.
We even planted three blueberry bushes. Don't know if we'll get much yield off of them but it will be fun to try!

Surprise on The Deck
Yesterday morning my hubby noticed a pile of fluff in the flower planter on our deck. It turned out that it is a rabbit nest. I can't believe that the rabbit climbed up on our deck so close to the house to have her babies in a planter!
The sad part is that one of the babies fell out of the nest and died. I haven't got up the courage to poke around in the nest to see if there are any other babies in it. I'm just going to leave it be and let nature take it's course.
